Meeting with Variety Cruises Management Team

Vivestia initiated the project by presenting the concept and benefits of creating a Virtual Reality Tour using Matterport technology to the Variety Cruises Management Team. The purpose was to enhance their online presence, provide an immersive experience for potential customers, and showcase their fleet of luxury cruise ships. Pitch line: "Have you seen a cabin yet of a luxury yacht?"

Project Steps

Step 1: Inspection Stage

A team of dedicated personnel inspected each vessel to understand the complexity and the resources needed for this project. The Inspection Process lasted 4 hours and was performed along side with the Hotel Managers in each vessel..

Step 2: Project Planning and Scope Definition

After gaining approval, Vivestia collaborated closely with Variety Cruises to define the scope, objectives, and specific requirements for the Virtual Reality Tour. Detailed discussions and planning sessions were conducted to identify the key areas and features to be included, such as cabins, common areas, and onboard amenities.

Step 3: Content Capture and Processing:

Vivestia deployed a team of experts to conduct comprehensive 3D scanning and capture high-resolution imagery of Variety Cruises' ships. Using Matterport technology, they meticulously scanned and documented every area, ensuring accurate representation of the vessels' interior and exterior spaces. Additional content, such as descriptions and multimedia assets, were also created to enrich the Virtual Reality Tour.

Step 4: Tour Enhancement and Customization

Once the scanning process was completed, Vivestia dedicated time to edit and enhance the captured data. They refined the 3D models, adjusted lighting and colors, and integrated the additional content to create a seamless and visually appealing Virtual Reality Tour. The editing phase focused on ensuring a smooth and immersive experience for users.

Step 5: Quality Assurance and Testing

To ensure the Virtual Reality Tour met high standards of functionality, performance, and user experience, Vivestia conducted thorough quality assurance testing. They meticulously checked the navigation, interactive elements, multimedia content, and compatibility across various platforms and devices. Any issues or inconsistencies identified during testing were promptly addressed to deliver a polished final product.

Step 6: Integration to Client's Website

During this phase, Vivestia collaborated closely with Variety Cruises' web development team to seamlessly integrate the Virtual Reality Tour into their website. Technical specifications and assets were provided to facilitate the integration process. Rigorous testing was conducted to ensure the Virtual Reality Tour functioned flawlessly within the website environment and across different web browsers and devices.

Step 7: Trained Engineering, Marketing & Sales Department

As part of the project, Vivestia provided comprehensive training to the Engineering, Marketing, and Sales departments of Variety Cruises. The training aimed to equip their staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively utilize the Virtual Reality (VR) technology and showcase the VR Tour to potential customers.

Step 8: Ongoing Support and Maintenance

To ensure the long-term success of the Virtual Reality Tour, Vivestia provided Variety Cruises with ongoing technical support and maintenance services. This included regular performance monitoring and analytics assessment of the Virtual Reality Tour. Any necessary updates, optimizations, or expansions were implemented in collaboration with Variety Cruises' team as their cruise offerings evolved.

Project Deliverable

The deliverable of the project was the creation of 8 Virtual Tours, encompassing all of Variety Cruises' vessels. Vivestia successfully captured immersive 3D scans and imagery of each vessel, dedicating 2 days of shooting per vessel. The meticulous process ensured that every area, from cabins to onboard facilities, was meticulously documented in English. The result was a collection of visually stunning and interactive Virtual Tours that allowed viewers to explore and experience the luxurious offerings of Variety Cruises' fleet from the comfort of their own devices.
